Special Education & Inclusion

How can we help every student participate, make progress, and feel a true sense of belonging? Special Education & Inclusion is a space to explore the questions, challenges, and possibilities involved in supporting learners with disabilities and diverse learning needs. Here, we’ll discuss IEPs, accommodations and modifications, specially designed instruction, accessible materials, and collaboration among teachers, specialists, and families. We’ll also explore supporting communication, executive functioning, and social-emotional needs while balancing grade-level content with individual learning goals. Through teacher questions, shared experiences, and practical strategies, this section invites thoughtful conversations about maintaining meaningful expectations, recognizing progress, and making inclusion an everyday experience of learning and belonging.
